Ladies of Virtue. . . Empowered!
I Know My Worth

I.Intro- What is L.O.V.E.?
1. Lady- a woman or female of refinement and gentle manner
2. Virtue- strength; conformity to a standard of “right”; moral excellence
3. Empower- to give authority or power; enable; to promote self-actualization
It is my hope and prayer that through studying the Word and our discussions, we will be strengthened and encouraged to love God, ourselves and others more than we already do!

II. How do you see yourself?
A. What are strengths or qualities that you like?
B. What are areas or traits that you could improve upon?
C. Do you think. . . the way that you perceive yourself affects how people treat you?
->The consensus to this question was “YES!”
->Realize that people will feed you things/adjectives (ie- greedy, considerate, caring, rude, etc.).  You can choose what words to exemplify!
->Be mindful of how you speak to others-> your words have POWER!

II. How Does GOD see/ think of us?
A. His Representatives/Reflections
     1. Do people see Jesus in you?
         i. Psalm 15:1-4   (1)Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in they holy hill? (2)He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. (3)He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbor, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor. (4) In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth that fear the Lord. . .
ii. I John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
B. His Children-  He will protect us and strengthen us for any trials that arise in our lives
         i. I John 4:4  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.
ii. Corinthians 10:13  There hath not temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

III. Do You Know Your Worth?
A. Let's start at the Beginning- Your Creation
         i. Psalm 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
ii. God knows everything about us- even the number of strands of hair we have!  The One who created the universe cares so much for us!
iii. He loved us so much that He sacrificed His life and freely offers salvation to us!
         iv. He is our protector/provider
B. Sometimes We Get Distracted from Living for God. . . How/Why?
(School, Work, Social Life, Relationships. . . it's all about balance & prioritizing the things in your life)
*Even if we get distracted, there is HOPE!  We need to fully commit ourselves to God.
He has plans for us that we can't even imagine!*
         i. Ephesians 3:20 Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
*We are supposed to treasure/cherish our bodies; realize that it is the temple of the Holy Ghost.
ii. I Corinthians 6:18-20 (18) Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. (19) What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? (20) For ye are brought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
HONOR GOD WITH YOUR BODY!  Don't give “randoms” access to it!

We can be(come) sanctified & virtuous women!
 i. Psalm 119:9-11... Chase God- not men!
ii. Romans 12:1 & 2... live EVERY moment for God!
iii. Romans 12:9... Be sincere in your walk!
(Proverbs 31- Virtuous Woman)

IV. Now that You Know Your Worth. . .
A. Watch/Monitor what you expose yourself to!
      1. You are what you eat, see, listen to, etc. so don't feed yourself trash!
      2. “Guard your hearing. Guard your seeing. Guard your speaking. Guard your heart.”{Your Righteous Mind- Donald Lawrence}
      3. What you expose yourself to, has the opportunity to enter your heart, mind and spirit and if it's cultivated (allowed to grow), it will manifest itself through your actions!
* Galatians 5:22&23. . . Live in the Spirit.  Your life is a tree; what fruit will it bear? (love, peace, etc. or malice, gossip. . .)
* Galatians 5:24... If you belong to God, you MUST crucify the flesh!  Kill lust and other distractions.  Nothing is more important that pleasing God!
B. Don't Settle!
 1. Let God Amaze You with His Plans
2. Be Accountable- surround yourself with people who will encourage you in your walk with Christ… Appreciate people who will “check” you when you need it.
3. Realize that Your Value can Fluctuate
a. modifications can cause an item's value to either increase or decrease (appreciate or depreciate)
b. everything that you add/take out of your life will have an impact. . .

ARE YOU ADDING TO or SUBTRACTING FROM YOUR WORTH?

The Unexpected Temptation

I know. . . It's been time for me to write something new.🙈 However, coming across this video from Jackie Hill Perry to prompted me to actually get this post out. One line pierced my heart. "When you have a gift that involves words, one of the ways the enemy will tempt you is to be silent." Wow!  I hone stly think silence is one of the last things that comes to mind when people think of temptation. According to Oxford Languages, the definition of temptation is  the desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise. I can hear someone asking, "How can silence be wrong or unwise?"  Oh. . . Hold on for just a minute and it will come together. There are times when our obedience [to speak] may be the key to someone else's blessing . Your words and actions could essentially provide healing for your brother or sister in Christ! In the book of Revelation, we read, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.....

Let It Go {One Year of Freedom}

"...let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us." - Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)  **If you don't get anything else out of this post, I pray that you realize. . . you really can do all things through Christ - especially when your desire is to please Him! He will strengthen you to walk uprightly before Him.** ---------- Believe me when I say. . . Knowing what you need to do is very  different from actually doing it. Sometimes it is difficult to do what we know is right. That's where I found myself, in November and December of 2022. Let me take you back. . . As a single woman (just in case anybody needs clarification 😉), I was opening myself up to meeting guys and getting to know them when I crossed paths with  Royal . Initially, we seemed to have quite a few things in common: faith, a desire to serve our communities, a strong love for our families, and. . . a way with words. (*insert face...

I Can't Buy It!

"They are trying way too hard." Have you ever watched a tv show/movie or had a conversation with someone and thought that?  Sometimes it could be a matter of trying to create a sense of chemistry that isn't there or maybe one person is trying to impress another.  It's quite interesting to me. . . I remember having a conversation with my uncle, a few years ago.  We were discussing the various ways that people may treat PKs (preacher's kids).  Sometimes people feel extremely comfortable talking to me- when they find out that my father is a pastor.  ( At times, they become a little too comfortable and I start to feel like their therapist. . . I love to offer encouraging words though.  And I appreciate the fact that they trust me enough to share things with me. )  Other people seem to close up.  It's as though they think I'll scrutinize their every move :-/.  I promise- I'm a sweetheart :-). THEN. . . we have those people who end up being ...
