Distracted Driving. . . Focus!

It may be common knowledge that I live in a rural area on Maryland's Eastern Shore. I love being able to look at the trees and various plants and watch the sunrise/sunset- seeing the colors in the sky and whatnot. . . However, one thing that I don't care for is the possibility of dealing with deer on the road 😒. I don't know. Maybe it's this week's fluctuating temperatures or just the time of the year. . . but the deer in my area seem to be out of hand→ just chillin' in the middle of the street or acting like they want to boldly 'greet' you while you're driving. This week alone, I've had 3 or 4 close calls! My scariest incident occurred a couple of days ago. It was hot and humid so I decided to adjust the air conditioner. I literally glanced down at the knob and looked up- just in time to see a huge buck making its way across the street (in front of me)! I slammed on my brakes (thankfully, no one was behind me) and avoided hitting it- o...

He Was Into Me {8.18.14}

He was into me! And I thought he was fine! Tall, dark, and handsome. I smiled at the thought of him being mine. He was into me! He made me laugh and smile. Felt like I'd known him for years but it was only a short while. He was into me! We would talk for hours! I'd try to hang up the phone but it felt as if he was pulling me with superpowers. He was into me(!) but it was clear to see. . . A relationship with him just could not be. You see. . . I was into him! I mean- I was impressed! Still- something about the situation had me feeling distressed. I was into him(!) but I'd soon have to choose. And my relationship with Jesus was way too much to lose! I was into him! Yet God meant more to me. And I knew- from temptation I needed to flee. As much as I was into him. . . I'd made a vow to maintain my standards. I couldn't and won't abandon them now! Whether you're into him. Or he's into you. Here's some ...

Revelation- March 19, 2013

I THOUGHT I knew what to do to get your attention but I was so wrong. So lost. Led by my desires and choices- I listened to my own thoughts instead of Your voice. I thought I could spark a response from You if I just prayed for a minute or two. Ha! You saw straight through that. You! Your Word(!) caused me to get my mind right and come back. So, I returned with a sincere heart... an authentic desire to do my part. With a heart full of worship and adoration, I prayed for my life to be a manifestation of Your love and its transforming power. I realized that in Your name, I have a strong tower. I know NOW that You are not my personal genie. You're a King who I should serve faithfully. Allow me to be challenged by Your Word. So that it will be something I do - not that I've only heard. Day-by-day, reveal yourself to me. I want to be all that You've created me to be! After Your righteousness, do I hunger and thirst. I'm striving, de...

My {Senses} Prayer- December 3, 2012

Dear Lord. . . I've been noticing some things that have reminded me just how valuable a sincere relationship with You truly is! I'm asking You to please guard my heart, soul and mind. . . Allow me to stay focused on You and not worry about things that may simply appeal to my senses . Lord, let me see people for who they really are and establish appropriate boundaries. Allow me to surround myself with friends who will push me closer to you and not try to pull me away. Guard my mind and make me realize that while You can choose to use me, it is only for YOUR glory. It's not about me! Let me never think that I've accomplished any of my goals on my own. . . but  cause me to remember that it was through Your help and strength. Lord Jesus, draw me closer to You!  Increase my desire to spend time in Your presence!  Allow me to hear Your voice clearly and let You lead me. Let me taste your Word-> even the 'dishes' that I may not like. Your Word is n...

A Message for the Ladies. . .

I've written/re-written this post so many times that I decided to start over and say what I think is really important. . . Ladies!  It is so much more important to look for ways to improve your relationship with God- than to figure out how to "get a man!"  I know... I know... I don't have one, BUT I'm fine with that (lol). In this day and time, it seems like ladies are struggling to recognize and walk in their worth.  Some feel that they need a man to complete them or their life will have no purpose. If you need to be reminded, just read Psalm 139:14! "I thank you, High God-- You're breathtaking!  Body & soul, I am marvelously made!"   -{The Message//REMIX} It's so easy to get distracted in this thing called life. So we have to be careful, or else we'll lose focus on the things that are truly important. Let me take you back for a minute. . .when I was 19, I "dated" this guy and actually believed that he just migh...
