Writing Through It. . . No More Fear!

I can't believe I did it.

As much as I've been talking about overcoming fear. . . and replacing it with faith, I let it grip me.

To be perfectly honest, these last few months have been a bit of an emotional roller coaster for me and I kept thinking that I didn't want that to be reflected in my writing. So I simply stopped blogging for a minute.  Just recently, I guess you could say I came to myself and remembered- everyone experiences a variety of situations in life. We won't be happy every single day but there are always lessons to be learned.

In 2 Corinthians 3:2, the Word says, "Your very lives are a letter that anyone can read by just looking at you (The Message)."

I don't know about you but I want my letter- my life's story to be one that inspires others.  I know I won't get everything right but I definitely am willing to share the lessons I've learned in hopes of making a difference in someone else's life. (Revelation 12:11- We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.)

During this time, I've been given some great reminders. . .

Matthew 28:20- Jesus is always with us!  Sometimes we go through things that we don't even want to discuss with friends or loved ones. However, we can be confident that Jesus knows and cares for us. He won't abandon us but He'll actually be everything that we need- our protection, our strength, our comforter!

Proverbs 27:17- Good friends are priceless! When it comes down to them, I'll take quality over quantity any day.  I'm grateful for friends who know my strengths and weaknesses. Rather than taking advantage of my problem areas, my friends are gracious enough to offer insight and help to build me up. I hope you're surrounding yourself with people like that too!

Isaiah 61:3 & Romans 8:28- God truly can turn our situations around! Sometimes it's easy for us to focus more on the problems that we're facing- especially when they first pop up-> than it is to realize that the Problem Solver is right by our side. I just want to encourage you to cast your cares on Him. Place your trust in Him and watch Him transform your situation.

Don't be angry with God if your plans don't work out. He may be protecting you from something or may simply have something even better coming your way.

Oh- and sometimes it's not the situation that needs the transformation. . . so be willing to let Him work on you.

I just want to encourage you. Whatever you're dealing with, know that God is there. It may feel like you're by yourself but you aren't. Go to Him with a sincere heart and allow Him to be your everything.

This current chapter may be painful but your victory is coming. . . Say goodbye to fear and live a life of faith!

  2. I love this! I believe after everything that has occurred in my life after college, I have been living my life in fear. I want to live my life in faith and not fear. Oh and I need to download that song again! I love Kirk Franklin's music! It is so inspirational! :)

The Unexpected Temptation

I know. . . It's been time for me to write something new.šŸ™ˆ However, coming across this video from Jackie Hill Perry to prompted me to actually get this post out. One line pierced my heart. "When you have a gift that involves words, one of the ways the enemy will tempt you is to be silent." Wow!  I hone stly think silence is one of the last things that comes to mind when people think of temptation. According to Oxford Languages, the definition of temptation is  the desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise. I can hear someone asking, "How can silence be wrong or unwise?"  Oh. . . Hold on for just a minute and it will come together. There are times when our obedience [to speak] may be the key to someone else's blessing . Your words and actions could essentially provide healing for your brother or sister in Christ! In the book of Revelation, we read, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.....

Let It Go {One Year of Freedom}

"...let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us." - Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)  **If you don't get anything else out of this post, I pray that you realize. . . you really can do all things through Christ - especially when your desire is to please Him! He will strengthen you to walk uprightly before Him.** ---------- Believe me when I say. . . Knowing what you need to do is very  different from actually doing it. Sometimes it is difficult to do what we know is right. That's where I found myself, in November and December of 2022. Let me take you back. . . As a single woman (just in case anybody needs clarification šŸ˜‰), I was opening myself up to meeting guys and getting to know them when I crossed paths with  Royal . Initially, we seemed to have quite a few things in common: faith, a desire to serve our communities, a strong love for our families, and. . . a way with words. (*insert face...

7 Revelations for 37

I really was trying to get through this birthday- well- get away with not writing anything specific, but all of a sudden, ideas started flowing. So. . . Here are 7 Revelations that I am trying to be mindful of as I go through Year 37. 1. Proverbs 4:23 is a command (not a suggestion). It reads, "Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life (AMP)." Other translations say to keep or guard  your heart. . . In other words, be selective and protect it. Watch what you allow to enter your heart. Seeds may be planted by various circumstances, people with whom you interact, etc. but you do not need to allow everything to take root. Things like bitterness, frustration, and envy will try to find a home within you.  Beware: Whatever you allow to take root in your heart will be reflected through your actions! 2. This goes right with Point #1. Be willing to have uncomfortable conversations. Clearing the air can also help to keep your heart [and spirit] c...
