Let Him Use You! {Availability}

Sometimes it’s amazing to me- just to sit and think about God’s love for me (us)… Before I even had knowledge of Him, HE knew EVERYTHING about me!  It’s crazy to think that the One who has created the universe— the One who established the foundation of the world-> cares enough about us that He’s mindful of the number of strands of hair we have.  He knows how many breaths we’ll take because He is supplying them for us.  How can we not be grateful for that?!  He hears our prayers- before we even think or speak them out loud.  Not only that, but He takes the time to listen and answer us.
“Though millions call Your name, You still make time for me. That’s incredible… to me.” {It Would Take All Day- Kirk Franklin} Considering all of these things causes me to be extremely grateful.  So it’s frustrating to see that so many people are trying harder to make names for themselves or *use God*… rather than allowing Him to work in and through them!
“Nowadays everybody wants to be in control.  Tryna be leader when they’ve never really followed.  Got no information and no direction… and way too much pride.  When it ain’t that hard to just ask the Lord to be your guide.” {Love You That Much- Mary Mary}
So many individuals are trying to exalt themselves.  They want to hold positions of leadership but aren’t even ready for the *responsibilities* that come along with them.
It seems that people are losing focus-> instead of working to make a name for ourselves, we should be living in a way that compels others to {get to} know Christ and ultimately bring glory to His name.
Psalm 84:11 says, “…the Lord will give grace & glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.”  He wants to bless those who are consistently acknowledging Him- striving to be led by Him and most of all- living to PLEASE Him.
So please don’t think that you or I can pull a fast one on the All-Knowing, All-Seeing, All-Powerful God!  Don’t become one of those people who only wants to acknowledge God’s power when you want something… but then pretend that He doesn’t know your thoughts or intentions.
If you haven’t already… ask Him to transform your life!
“Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without thinking.  Instead, fix your attention on God.  You’ll be changed from the inside out.  Readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it… God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”
- Romans 12:2 (The Message//Remix)

Realize that you’ve been created for a reason!  Don’t be afraid to stand out!
“… don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young.  Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity.  Stay at your post reading Scripture, giving counsel, teaching…”
- I Timothy 4:12 (The Message//Remix)

Always remember that YOU can make a difference in someone’s life!  All you have to do is…
Let Him love you.
Let Him change you.

The Unexpected Temptation

I know. . . It's been time for me to write something new.🙈 However, coming across this video from Jackie Hill Perry to prompted me to actually get this post out. One line pierced my heart. "When you have a gift that involves words, one of the ways the enemy will tempt you is to be silent." Wow!  I hone stly think silence is one of the last things that comes to mind when people think of temptation. According to Oxford Languages, the definition of temptation is  the desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise. I can hear someone asking, "How can silence be wrong or unwise?"  Oh. . . Hold on for just a minute and it will come together. There are times when our obedience [to speak] may be the key to someone else's blessing . Your words and actions could essentially provide healing for your brother or sister in Christ! In the book of Revelation, we read, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.....

KCC - Vertical Current's Bright Side of Midnight

*I am super late with this post but. . . better late than never ;-)* I really love good food and good music! So I love being able to combine the two- especially if I also have great company! Saturday- August 2nd was no exception!  With the release of their first full-length album, Vertical Current took to the Warmdaddy's stage to celebrate! I was happy to have my girl friend/lil sis there with me! While the members of this exciting band are able to complement one another's strengths, they also bring on guests that seem to add an extra  oomph  to their shows! To start the night off, the audience was introduced to the group-   Ode to Omni !  It was the first time that my friend and I had heard them and we were definitely impressed! Other special guests (who also appear on the album) were Chartel Findlater, Shelia Moser (aka Lee Mo), Rick Tate Jr. and El' Ahmad Barak! Bright Side of Midnight was released on July 29th and it offers 11 tracks of ama...

Let It Go {One Year of Freedom}

"...let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us." - Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)  **If you don't get anything else out of this post, I pray that you realize. . . you really can do all things through Christ - especially when your desire is to please Him! He will strengthen you to walk uprightly before Him.** ---------- Believe me when I say. . . Knowing what you need to do is very  different from actually doing it. Sometimes it is difficult to do what we know is right. That's where I found myself, in November and December of 2022. Let me take you back. . . As a single woman (just in case anybody needs clarification 😉), I was opening myself up to meeting guys and getting to know them when I crossed paths with  Royal . Initially, we seemed to have quite a few things in common: faith, a desire to serve our communities, a strong love for our families, and. . . a way with words. (*insert face...
